Camp Catalpa Park

About the Park

Camp Catalpa Park is located on the East Side of Lake Reba. In the 1970s the land was designated as a bird sanctuary by meeting guidelines including hunting is not allowed, trees are plentiful, and there is a water source.

Beginning in 2014, the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department has made the following improvements: updated bathrooms, removed the old metal shelter and installed a new large wooden shelter, installed new roofs on the bathroom and the small shelter, removed 10 acres of honeysuckle and invasive species/ overgrowth, expanded the 0.5 Mile Walking Trail to a 2 Mile Walking Loop, installed a new playground, and installed new signage. Throughout the project, we worked with the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife to ensure that anglers were able to have more opportunities to fish on the lake, which was an added benefit to the increased mileage of the trails. The disc golf course was expanded to an 18 hole course.

Park Amenities

Disc Golf Course

Disc golf is a game for all ages. The first hole is located next to the parking lot and the course map. This 18 hole, PDGA course was built in 2017 by H.B Clark Designs. This course offers challenging holes, long and short holes, and beautiful views. Bring your own discs and your friends for a fun-filled day at the park.
